The Global Methodist Church in Nigeria extends its heartfelt sympathy and solidarity to the Bishop, clergy and entire catholic community of Wukari diocese as well as the Catholic faithfuls around the world following the devastating fire incident that destroyed the historic St Mary’s cathedral Wukari.

We share in your grief and pain during this difficult moment. The burning of a sacred place of worship is a profound loss not only to the Catholic community but to all Christians who see such holy space as symbols of faith, unity, and devotion to God.

Even in the midst of this tragedy, we pray that God grants strength, comfort, and renewed hope to the Bishop, priests, parishioners, and the entire Catholic community in Wukari. May the Lord restore what has been lost and guide the rebuilding of the cathedral into an even stronger symbol of faith and resilience.

Please be assured of our prayers and our brotherly love. We trust that through God’s grace this painful moment will give way to renewal, restoration, and an even stronger witness of faith.
