The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Taraba State, Alh Idris A. Goje attended the combined convocation of the 35 sets of graduates of the College of Education, Zing on Saturday 9th November, 2024.

The convocation which took place in a grand style was graced with presence of the visitor to the College, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, former Governor Rev Jolly Nyame and the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna, Speaker and Members, Taraba State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Royal Fathers, Members of National Assembly and distinguished personalities from within and outside the state.

Idris who on behalf of the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Dr Augustina Godwin and the Provost Prof. Ejika Sambo received the visitor, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas in the College.
Recall that the last convocation was held in 1994 which since then there wasn’t any event to this effect.
His Excellency applauded the organizers of the convocation and the college community for such a historic moment in the history of the Institution and all Graduates from 1994 till date.

Over nineteen thousand seven hundred 19,700 Graduates under the years in view were successfully convocated as holders of National Certificates of Education (NCE).
The governor also announced that the College of Education will become a Center for Teachers’ training in Taraba State adding that going forward, convocations are going to be conducted yearly in all state-based tertiary institutions and at a time when he will be available to attend.

During the event, He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to a comprehensive Educational Reforms Initiative aimed at creating a future where quality education is universally accessible and affordable.
Highlights of the program were cultural dances, match passes, oaths and commissioning of buildings named after His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas and other prominent individuals who contributed vehemently for the success of the institution.
