Taraba Education Commissioner Inspects Ongoing 60 Model Schools Projects in Zing, Yorro; Interacts with Students and Teachers

The Taraba State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, accompanied by the Director ICT, Denis N. Bello, has continued her inspection tour of the ongoing 60 Model Schools Construction projects across the state, as part of the Dr Agbu Kefas’ commitment to improving the standard of education and learning infrastructure.

During the latest phase of the monitoring exercise, the Commissioner visited Government Secondary School (GSS) Zing in Zing Local Government Area and Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Pantisawa in Yorro Local Government Area, where she assessed the level of work done and the quality of construction on ground.

Dr. Augustina expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded in the schools visited, noting that the Model Schools initiative is a major intervention designed to provide students with modern classrooms, improved learning facilities, and a conducive environment for quality teaching and learning.

According to her, the inspection is aimed at ensuring that contractors adhere strictly to specifications, timelines, and standards as approved by the Taraba State Government.

While at the schools, the Commissioner also visited classrooms and engaged teachers and students in interactive sessions, during which she encouraged them to remain dedicated to academic excellence and discipline.

She further reassured staff and students of the government’s determination to provide the needed support for effective teaching and learning, stressing that the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, remains committed to delivering lasting reforms in the education sector.

The Commissioner stated that the inspection will continue across other Local Government Areas until all the ongoing Model Schools projects are adequately monitored and delivered in line with the state’s education transformation agenda.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to pay homage to the Kpanti Zing, HRH Alh. Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo to inform him of her presence and intimate him of the progress level of the ongoing projects.
