THE PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ATTENDS THE STAKEHOLDERS, POLICY ENGAGEMENT ADVOCACY FOR WCA AND EHW

The workaholic Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Taraba State, Alh Idris A. Goje attended the Stakeholders, Policy Engagement Advocacy for West and Central Africa (WCA) Commitment on Family Life and Health Education/Education for Health and Wellbeing (FLHE/EHW) in Taraba State.
The Permanent Secretary who ably and capably represented the Commissioner of Education, Dr Augustina Godwin gave a welcoming remarks and appreciated the participants for honoring the invitation.
The Society for Family Health in collaboration with the Taraba State Ministry of Education will provide trainings to one thousand one hundred and eleven teachers in Jalingo, Wukari and Gassol LGAs to implement Family Life & HIV/AIDs Education (FLHE) and Education for Health & Wellbeing (EHW) in their schools and to further scale up to other LGAs in the state.
The SFH Coordinator, Aisha Dadi stated the mandate as thus “We, the Ministers of Education and Health of West and Central Africa (WCA), meeting in Kintélé, on 6 April 2023, proclaim our vision of a West and Central Africa where all adolescents and young people have access to their rights and are equipped with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values they need to transition to adulthood, to relate to others in healthy and respectful ways, and to be ready to become active, self-reliant and responsible citizens in their communities, countries and regions”.
Goodwill messages were outpoured by the Commissioner of Social Justice and Reintegration, Hon. Dr Felista I. Musa, Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Amb Joseph Joshua, the representative of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Leaders, HRH Alh Idris Yakubu Chiroma, Chief of Gassol and the State PTA Chairman among others.
The meeting witnessed the attendance of representatives of Women Affairs and Child Development, Health, TACA, State Ministry of Education, Coalition of Civil Society Organizations, Taraba State, Women Society of Nigeria and religious bodies.
