KONA COMMUNITY HONORS COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION DR AUGUSTINA; PLEDGES SUPPORT TO GOVERNOR AGBU KEFAS

Dr Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner of Education Taraba State has been honored with prestigious award of excellence by her community.
The award presentation ceremony was organized by Soo-Fad-Rig Multipurpose Cooperative Society Kona Garu, in collaboration with Kur Kona HRH Augustine Njinmang Vengkni, to mark Augustina’s one year of productive service in office.

Soo-Fad-Rig Multipurpose Cooperative Society Kona Garu is a nonprofit organization established in 2005 by a group of like-minded individuals passionate about tackling various degree of issues not limited to educational disparities among the youths and in rural regions, Need for peaceful
coexistence, Community service etc, with a mission to encourage quality education and empower underprivileged children. Soo Fad-Rig Multipurpose Cooperative Society strives to create a more equitable world.
Declaring the occasion opened, the leader of the organization praised Dr Augustina as a remarkable individual whose unwavering commitment to community service and human development has inspired countless individuals within a year in office noting that this is not done to undermine the obvious efforts of all the commissioners under Kefas’ administration that Dr. Augustina has done remarkably well within the year under review using key Performance Indicators (KPI) hence, stand out to be acknowledged.

On presentation of the award by Kur Kona, the monarch lauded the achievements of Augustina’s one year in office which made her a good ambassador whose pedigree is worthy of emulation. He used the occasion to thank His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for finding Augustina worthy of being in his cabinet. He called on all sons and daughters of Kona both home and diaspora to support the government of Dr Agbu Kefas in moving Taraba state forward. He liken Augustina to a servant who made investment of what his master gave him and earned a reward for the selfless sacrifice.
Dr. Augustina thanked her community for organizing such a grand occasion in her honor. She also appreciated the Royal father for his fatherly role and all the necessary advice he has been giving her.

Augustina used the opportunity to thank His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for considering her worthy to be in the moving forward boat adding that she will always work hard to achieve the vision he has for the state especially in the education sector. She called on her people to support Dr Agbu Kefas in delivering more dividends of democracy.
The occasion gathered traditional rulers, politicians, dignitaries from all walks of life, staff from Ministry of Education, Boards and Parastatals, sons and daughters of the Kona land and her family members.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of the award, cultural dances, reading of citation, goodwill messages and special mentions.
