Gov Agbu Kefas commended the Founder and Chairman Emeritus, TY Danjuma Foundation for his developmental strides in education and other sectors in the state.
The statement was made during the recent inaugural and commissioning ceremony of the TY Danjuma Academy Takum on Tuesday 7th October, 2025.
The Governor who was ably and capably represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Taraba State, Hon. Dr. Augustina Godwin stressed that education remains the most powerful tool for transformation hence the need for every child regardless of circumstance has access to quality learning in a conducive environment.
He applauded the efforts of the elder statesmen, Gen. TY Danjuma, GCON for unveiling not just a school building but putting a legacy of purpose, sacrifice and service to humanity.
The Commissioner added that TY Danjuma Academy is not only for the good people of Takum, but Taraba, Nation and World at large. On behalf of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba State expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the most respectful statesman, General TY Danjuma, GCON for his invaluable contributions and prayed that the school stands for generations as a monument of generosity, foresight, and love for humanity as the journey began.
TY Danjuma Academy located in Takum, Taraba State, Nigeria, was founded through the visionary leadership of General TY Danjuma to deliver an international standard of education to his community. The academy nurtures the whole student mind, body, and soul offering a robust international curriculum for preschool through eighth grade.
The edifice has cafeteria, 39 classrooms, 2 libraries, 2 computer labs, art room, music room, indoor gymnasium, football pitch, playground, administrative block and CCTV security cameras with 40 teachers and 340 students.
Goodwill speeches were offered by Melissa Camiola, Administrator, TY Danjuma Academy, Dr Ronke Soyombo, Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Mohammed Malick Fall, UN Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator, Hannatu Gentles, Chairman, TY Danjuma Foundation and Lt. Gen. TY Danjuma (Rtd), Founder and Chairman Emeritus, TY Danjuma Foundation.
The academy was later commissioned by His Royal Highness, Barr. Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi III, the Chief of Takum accompanied by other royal fathers present, distinguished senators, executive officers and international allies.
