DR AUGUSTINA OFFICIATES 10TH EDITION OF NILDS QUIZ COMPETITION IN JALINGO

Dr Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Taraba State has attended the Tenth Edition of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) Quiz Competition for Taraba schools.

Delivering her opening remarks, Dr Godwin emphasized that the development aligns with Dr Agbu Kefas’s vision of education in the state hence the state for support by all educational stakeholders.

Dr Godwin recounted the performance of the Taraba state team in the last competition which made them emerged winners at the zonal level and represented the zone at the national level to emerge fourth in Abuja in a keenly contested competition.

She expressed the commitment of His Excellency to ensuring that the government of Taraba state keys into every program and projects that enhance a better future for our society and especially the children.

The aim of the quiz is to deepen knowledge of legislative and democratic governance at the level of secondary school students as well as to inspire young Nigerians to cultivate the interest to participate in legislative governance.

Gifts and certificates of attendance were presented to the performing schools by the Honourable Members present, Hon. Nelson C Len, Hon. Anas Shuaibu, Commissioner, Hon Dr Augustina Godwin, Permanent Secretary Alh. Idris A Goje, Directors and Hajiya Hauwa Sadiq Pate, a representative from Abuja.

The schools attended were: Federal Technical College Jalingo, who came first, Best Helena Heritage School Jalingo came second and Excel Model College Wukari came third.

Other schools were: Omas Royal Academy, Jalingo, Rock Foundation Wukari and Holy Trinity College Sabon Gida-Takai.
