DR AUGUSTINA FLAGS OFF TARABA STATE TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

The Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Taraba State, Dr Augustina Godwin flagged off Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Training for some selected teachers in the state.

Declaring the occasion opened on behalf of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba state, the commissioner harped on the need to empower educators, enhance their skills and equip them with the latest methodologies and best practices in teaching in this ever-evolving world.

She lauded the foresight of Kefas’ administration of setting a high standard for the education sector and making available the resources needed in elevating the quality of education in the state. She urged all stakeholders, parents, community leaders and local organizations to join hands in paving a way for a brighter educational future.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Alh Idris A. Goje gave a goodwill message that underscored the critical role of TSUBEB in the basic education while highlighting the notable achievements recorded so far under this great administration through various trainings and programs. He called for support to His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas to ensure that his laudable policies are greatly achieved.

Mrs Rabi Sunday, the Acting Chairperson, TSUBEB also mentioned the significance of this initiative in her speech noting that teachers are the backbone of any education system. They inspire, guide, and mold the minds of our learners. However, for them to continue excelling, they must be equipped with the latest knowledge, skills, and best practices in education that is why this initiative is not just an event, but a movement—one that ensures our educators are empowered to meet the ever-changing demands of the teaching profession.

Other goodwill messages were delivered by the representatives of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), NTI, NUT, UBEC, SUBEB Directors, Secretary House Committee on Education, TSHA and the training institution, College of Education Zing, Consult Unit among others.
