DR AUGUSTINA ATTENDS ASSEP TEACHERS TRAINING; HARPS ON PROFESSIONALISM
Dr Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner of Education, Taraba State attended the training of Accelerated Secondary School Education Program (ASSEP) teachers training held on the 4th – 5th December, 2024 at the Patience Event Center, Jalingo.
The training which was officially declared opened by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Barr. Gebon T. Kataps on behalf of Taraba state government gannared science, technology, engineering, mathematics and agriculture (STEMA) teachers across the state to learn the professional digital process of teaching using artificial intelligence (AI).
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Taraba State, Alh Idris A. Goje on behalf of the State Focal Person, Hon. Barr Zainab Usman Jalingo, Commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation, Taraba State gave the opening remarks and charged all the participants to take advantage of this meager opportunity to improve their digital skills in line with the vision of His Execellency, Dr Agbu Kefas.
The Commissioner in her speech urged the selected teachers to demonstrate assiduity and unwavering commitment in the dissemination of knowledge to their students as they are critical stakeholders in modeling characters. She sued for the need to cascade the training down the grassroots for all teachers across the state with the help of the State Focal Person, Barr Zainab Usman Jalingo, the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Taraba state.
The physical training was organized by North East Development Commission (NEDC) in collaboration with the Taraba State Government to complement the online training already undertook by the teachers.
The Commissioner issued Certificate of Attendance to the deserving participants during the closing ceremony and felicitate with them for this huge leap.
In attendance were the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Abel Bako Joachim, Director Science and Technology Education and the Director Planning, Research and Statistics of the Ministry.
