DR AUGUSTINA ATTENDS NACREN CONFERENCE, HONORS WITH MERITORIOUS AWARD

The Honorable Commissioner of Education, Dr Augustina Godwin has attended the opening ceremony of the 46th Annual National Conference of the National Association of Christian Religious Educators of Nigeria (NACREN) at Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Jalingo, Taraba State.
In his welcome address, the Chairman NACREN Taraba State Chapter, Rev. Obidah Kafiyaro, welcomed the dignitaries and delegates across the country. He thanked the Government of His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for the unwavering support and partnership with the association to making the event a reality.
The NACREN National President, Rev Dr Reuben Goje Maiture also added his voice in congratulating Dr Agbu Kefas, Starboy for a remarkable and transformative one year in office and applauded the efforts of Taraba State Ministry of Education and TSUBEB for not relenting in the promotion of Education particularly the teaching and learning of religious studies (CRS/IRS) which are core subjects in inculcating moral values to the youth.
Declaring the occasion opened, His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, ably represented by the Special Adviser on Christian Religious Affairs, Rev Father Sunday Patrick applauded the momentous occasion and charged the participants to explore the tremendous resources of nature’s gift to the nation while acknowledging the significance of the roles of Christian Religious Educators in shaping the minds and hearts of future generations adding that they are not just educators but mentors, guides and instruments of God’s love.
Dr Augustina on her part, highlighted the significant role of the Taraba State Government under the Education friendly Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas in providing decent environment that will propel learning to take place effectively. She harped on the openness of the Government welcoming every individual or group that will contribute their quota to the development of education in the state.
Dr Godwin was later honored with a meritorious award for her modest contribution in implementing the good policies of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas (The Action Governor) especially in the education sector.
Highlights of the event were investitures of BoT members of Taraba State chapter, paper presentations, goodwill speeches and award presentations to the esteemed awardees.
The commissioner was accompanied by the Secretary of the ministry, Mr Abel Bako Joachim.
