GPE: THE STATE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MEETS FOR REVIEW OF ACTION PLANS

The Global Partnership for Education, State Technical Committee met for the intensive review meeting at the Diamond Classic Hotels Jalingo.
The meeting which is held bi-monthly convened all the participants and sister agencies for collaboration and dialogue in charting a new course for effective project delivery.

The state Chairman, Dr Augustina Godwin, Honourable Commissioner of Education, Taraba State alongside the dynamic Permanent Secretary, Alh Idris A Goje spearheaded the session.
In her opening remarks, Dr Augustina called for effective collaboration and coordination between the sister organizations in ensuring effective service delivery.

The Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI) has secured funding from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) to support Refugee Response and Host Communities in Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Cross River and Taraba States.
Dr Augustina was nominated in July as a member of the National Steering Committee (NSC) for Refugee Education Project for the effective running of the project with Save the Children International as the grant agent to implement the Refugee Education Intervention over a period of 18months.

Additionally, areas of need were identified for immediate interventions by the technical committee of Save the Children International in some of the schools visited which includes: renovation of classrooms, payment of stipends to volunteer teachers, payment of stipend to handicapped students, drilling of boreholes, construction of perimeter fences among others.
This project will indeed add color to the free education policy of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas.

In attendance were the GPE Reps, Education Secretaries of Sardauna and Kurmi, Director Nomadic TSUBEB, Ag Executive Secretary, Agency for Mass Education, ROHI Reps, NCMRFI, Secretary and Director Finance Ministry of Education.
