THE PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ATTENDS GRADUATION CEREMONIES OF STUDENTS IN REDSTAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AND NEW IDEAL MODEL SCHOOL JALINGO

The esteemed Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Taraba State, Alh Idris A Goje attended the graduation ceremonies and speech and prize giving day at the New Ideal Model School and Redstar International School all in Jalingo.

The colorful events were graced by the esteemed presence of royal fathers, business tycoons, parents, teachers and students.

During his speech as the Chairman in the dual occasions, the Permanent Secretary, applauded the efforts of the organizers of the programs and the schools management noting that education plays a vital role in shaping societies and individuals, impacting the overall development and progress of nations. Under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, Taraba State has prioritized the Education Sector with the declaration of a State of emergency and the implementation of a free education policy for basic and secondary schools. This initiative has led to a significant increase in student enrollment by approximately 80%, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing accessible education for all.

He added that the government appreciates the efforts of private investors most especially in the education sector that they will always provide policies that will support their investments in order to strive well in this harsh economic situations the country is witnessing today.

Additionally, government will always partner and collaborate with National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) to promote and provide quality and affordable education for our people.

Idris stressed that the ministry under the leadership of Dr Augustina Godwin, Honourable Commissioner of Education remains optimistic about the successful implementation of educational policies aligning with His Excellency’s vision for the Education Sector.

The Permanent Secretary appealed to owners of private schools in the state that, they are all critical stakeholders in the educational journey of the state, it is therefore important to imbibe the culture of excellence, perseverance and hard-work. He called for timely renewal of dues, proper documents with the ministry in order to curb the spread of quack schools illegally operating in the state and adherence to school calendar and up to date curriculum and schemes of work.

He finally used the opportunity to congratulate the graduands and give his best wishes to the continuing students. The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by the Director Primary and Secondary of the Ministry.

Highlights of the events were goodwill messages from dignitaries, drama, songs presentations, choreographies and awards to the exceptional performers.
