We can prepare the next generation of Nigerians to be patriotic enough to patronise made-in-Nigeria and support #GrowNairaBuyNaija by updating how we teach them the alphabet. Instead of the usual A for Apple and B for ball, why not:
A for akara
B for boii
C for chin -chin
D for dankwa
E for egusi
F for fura
G for garri
H for Hadejia
I for Ife
J for Jos
K for kilishi
L for leke leke
M for moi moi
N for Nkita
O for ogbolo
P for ponmo
Q for Quran
R for rada rada
S for sankira
T for tolo-tolo
U for ugwu
V for Vom
W for willy-willy
X for x-ray
Y for yam
Z for Zuma
By incorporating local elements into the alphabet, we subliminally influence our children’s minds to be pro-Nigeria. This will improve the mentality of the next generation and make them more Nigeria-focused. What do you think?
